Minor site updates are completed. We are now updated to Tikiwiki 5.0.

Thank you everyone for your patience with our site downtime this week. We had some crosslinked files which corrupted the database. And, the backup database!! Thank goodness for remote desktop backups! I was able to successfully restore from my personal backups, because my host backups were corrupted. Thanks again everyone for your patience. Enjoy!!

Minor site updates are completed. We are now updated to Tikiwiki 4.2. The Google Friend Connect has been modified. We have also changed to a new default site template modified for a cleaner look. The previous version is still available if you prefer to change it . The broken news feeds have been replaced.

We upgraded to Tikiwiki 4.0. This upgrade included security and feature enhancements. In addition, you will see at the bottom of your browser, a Google Friend Connect social toolbar. Please feel free to join up. This will allow you to connect with other CYTOPATHNETeer's while browsing CYTOPATHNET. You can also leave comments here as well.

We upgraded to Tikiwiki 3.3. We also modified the site style. The prior style does not format correctly with this latest version. However, this new style should be easy to read as well.

I am asking our visitors to help our Tikiwiki developer friends by nominating there project on Sourceforge. I know most of you are saying, "who?....what?....why?...". The CYTOPATHNET site you visit is based on the efforts of an open source community of dedicated passionate developers who have on many occasions, helped me with this site when I was having difficulties. They represent a true example of teamwork and collaboration across countries...a true worldwide social community who came together to build something. My hats off to them. Nominations close on May 29, 2009, so time is short. The most nominated projects will become finalists in their categories. Finalists will be announced on June 22nd. The winners will be revealed on July 23 during our infamous party at OSCON.

Site Upgrade to v 2.4.

We upgraded to Tikiwiki 2.4. This will help site performance. We were able to fix the image thumbnail issue. In addition, some security fixes were applied.

May 13 has been designated National Cytotechnology Day (NCD). Since 1985, NCD commemorates Dr. George Papanicolaou's contributions to the field of medicine, occuring on his birthday each year. May 12-18, 1985 became the first ever National Cytotechnology Week.
